"Ike's Bird" Needs Your Help!
"Ike's Bird," a former Air Force One aircraft for President Eisenhower, is a 1955 L-26B Aero Commander.
Her current mission is to educate the public, inspire future generations, and honor our veterans. Today that mission is in jeopardy. During her annual inspection in March 2026, corrosion was discovered in the right wing, requiring extensive structural repairs to ensure the aircraft remains safe to fly.
At the same time, her original 1955 fuel tanks, which have served faithfully for more than 70 years, have reached the end of their service life and must be replaced. With your help, we can complete these critical repairs and return Ike's Bird to the skies where she belongs. Help us keep history flying with your tax deductible donation. Every dollar goes directly to returning this unique piece of history to the air.
